The Africa Energy Indaba 2026 in Cape Town (3–5 March) unveils Deep-Dive Energy Forums tackling Africa’s top energy challenges, from investment and renewables to women and youth empowerment.

The Africa Energy Indaba (AEI) 2026, taking place from 3 – 5 March 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, will present an expanded programme of Deep-Dive Energy Forums.

These sessions are designed to tackle Africa’s most pressing energy challenges while unlocking transformative opportunities for investment, innovation, and inclusive growth.

Bringing together policymakers, investors, innovators, utilities, and development partners, the forums offer a comprehensive 360° view of Africa’s energy landscape, with actionable strategies tailored for the continent’s future.

Programme Highlights

Day 1 – Policy, Power Pools, Investment & Sustainability

  • African Power Pools & Regional Integration Forum: Examining cross-border electricity trade and interconnections with partners including SAPP, EAPP, WAPP, CAPP, governments, utilities, and regional banks.
  • Energy Investment & Financing Forum: Mobilising capital from DFIs, sovereign funds, banks, and private equity to unlock Africa’s bankable infrastructure projects.

Day 2 – Renewables, Green Hydrogen & Future Energy Innovation

  • Renewable Energy & Green Hydrogen Forum: Exploring Africa’s renewable resources and positioning the continent in the global hydrogen economy.
  • Future Energy & Innovation Forum: Showcasing energy storage, AI, e-mobility, and smart grids, making Africa a hub for new technologies.

Day 3 – Inclusion, Youth, Partnerships & Showcases

  • Women in Energy Leadership Forum: Driving mentorship, gender mainstreaming, and skills development across Africa’s energy value chain.
  • Youth in Energy & Skills Development Forum: Empowering Africa’s next generation of energy leaders through entrepreneurship and innovation.

The Deep-Dive Energy Forums complement AEI’s flagship plenary sessions by offering specialised platforms to:
