Craig Miller, Chief Executive of Anglo American Platinum, has been confirmed as a featured speaker at African Mining Week 2025, taking place from 1–3 October in Cape Town. Representing the world’s leading producer of platinum group metals (PGMs), Miller will join a high-level panel titled “South Africa’s Strategic Influence in the Global Platinum Group Metals Market.”
Miller’s participation comes at a time of mounting global demand for PGMs, spurred by their growing use in clean energy solutions, automotive catalysts, and electric vehicle technologies. As such, he is expected to provide valuable insight into Anglo American Platinum’s operational outlook and the evolving role of African producers in securing global PGM supply chains.
African Mining Week is regarded as the continent’s foremost platform for investment and dialogue in the mining sector. The 2025 edition is set to convene key stakeholders, including policymakers, investors, and mining executives, to unlock opportunities across Africa’s mineral value chains. The event is co-located with African Energy Week: Invest in African Energies 2025, providing broader exposure to regional energy and infrastructure markets.
Anglo American Platinum currently operates several of South Africa’s most significant PGM assets, including the Tumela, Mogalakwena, Kroondal, and Dishaba mines, as well as Zimbabwe’s Unki Platinum Mine. Collectively, these projects represent a cornerstone of the continent’s platinum output. For 2025, the company has set a refined PGM production target of up to 3.4 million ounces, supported by strategic mine expansions and capital investment across its African portfolio.
During the event, Miller is expected to outline the company’s long-term strategy, highlight ongoing project developments, and reaffirm its commitment to collaboration with African governments and global partners. His remarks will also reflect on the broader implications for South Africa as a critical hub in the international PGM ecosystem.
